Shaikh Abdal-Hakim Murad singing Imam Al-Haddad's poem

My Lord's knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
For my dua and my agonizing supplication
is a witness to my poverty.
For this secret I make supplication
in times of ease and times of difficulty
I am a slave whose pride
is in his poverty and obligation
O my Lord and my King
You know my state
And what has settled in my heart
of agonies and preoccupations
Save me with a gentleness
from You, O Lord of Lords
Oh save me, Most Generous
before I run out of patience

My Lord's knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
O One who is swift in sending aid
I ask for aid that will arrive to me swiftly
It will defeat all difficulty
and it will bring all that I hope for
O Near One Who answers
and All-Knowing and All-Hearing
I have attained realization through my incapacity,
my submission and my brokenness

My Lords knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
I am still standing by the door, so please my Lord
have mercy on my standing
And in the valley of generosity, I am in itikaf (solitary retreat)
So, Allah, make my retreat here permanent
And Im abiding by good opinion (of You)
For it is my friend and ally
And it is the one that sits by me and keeps me company
All day and night

My Lord's knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
There is a need in my soul, O Allah
so please fulfill it, O Best of Fulfillers
And comfort my secret and my heart
from its burning and its shrapnel
In pleasure and in happiness
and as long as You are pleased with me
For joy and expansion is my state
and my motto and my cover
My Lord's knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing

Beautiful Contradictions

O'Allah I submit to you that you may grace me
I go hungry that you may sustain me
I forsake my bed that you may rest me in peace
I give that I may from you receive

O'Allah I bow to you that you may raise me
I travel on the earth that you may take me to heaven
I endure hardship that you may grant me riches
I give my best to others that you may grant my wishes

O'Allah I cry to you that you may pacify me
I praise you to people that you may praise me to angels
I remember you in my heart so your love I may gain

I befriend your friends so may your blessings on me rain

O'Allah I submit to you that you may grace me
O'Allah I bow to you that you may raise me
O'Allah I cry to you that you may pacify me
O'Allah I remain steadfast to you that you may change me

Six visiting Central African boxers to embrace Islam

Faith is personal choice and there is no compulsion. Only God can guide and one has to sincerely want to be rightly guided to whatever is the truth. Muslims just convey the message of invitation openly to all regardless of race, caste or creed. Regardless of their personal choice of faith, it is certainly nice to see our guests wholeheartedly appreciating the hospitality and the positives in our country and culture.
"KARACHI: While Islamophobia is increasing in the West, six Christian members of visiting Central African Republic boxing team decided to convert to Islam after being highly-impressed by the Pakistani, Muslim culture and local hospitality on Monday."

Earthquakes will increase, time will pass quickly

One of the signs of the end of times is that time will pass quickly. Another sign is that earthquakes will increase.
Now read this...
"How Chile's quake could have shortened a day
Nasa scientists believe Chile's devastating earthquake may have speeded up the Earth's rotation and shortened the length of a day."

Funny and heartwarming conversion story

I think the more correct term is 'reversion' as we are all born in a state of peaceful submission to the will of Allah i.e. in a state of Islam. Then our families take over and shape us in their molds. It must be very very difficult to break out. Those born into Muslim families often don't realize it as they may take their faith for granted. Treasure it and nurture it - never take it for granted.

See the peace on his face and his obvious happiness, mashaAllah.

Are you a friend?

How do we treat our friends?
We contact them often and we miss them if we are not in touch
We plan our time with them - and we get together without any plan too
We go over to their place when they call us - and even when they don't
We respond to them when they communicate with us
We take care not to offend them
We go out of our way to apologize to them if we hurt them in any way
We give them first preference over others
We give to them whatever they ask for - and more
We are nice to their family and friends too simply because they are associated with our friend
We dislike those who are not liked by our friend
We fight those who bad mouth our friend
We grant them favors and in fact go out of our way to oblige them
We listen to their advise and often accept it even if we don't like it
We trust them even with our lives
We may even give our lives for them
... and we have high expectations from them too and they live up to them.

Now let us ask ourselves:
Are we friends of Allah?

Food imperialism and the new world order

A most informative speech given in a UK church in 2007.
